Thank you

This session has now concluded. You will be redirected to the National Convention.

Description

[1 credit hour]
This course provides continuing education for physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. A general attendance certificate is also available.

Primary Care Physicians are often the first and may be the only medical professionals to evaluate a patient who is suicidal. Proper identification of those patients at risk, assessment, and treatment may decrease suicides. It is anticipated that the rate of suicides will increase due to the COVID pandemic. The objective of the presentation will be to provide practice skills to mitigate suicide risk.

Objectives:

  • Identify those patient populations most at risk for suicide.
  • List protective factors in preventing suicides.
  • Utilize strategies to decrease suicide risk.

Note: Presentation slides are available under the 'Resources' tab above.
