This talk will review the essential attributes of a good leader and how to implement effective coaching strategies (active listening skills, utilizing statements that express understanding, encouragement, and concise messaging) to improve their respective healthcare team's communication skills. The discussion will include the pathway of leadership and its natural progression from character formation to coaching others. Practical guidance will be discussed as it relates to coaching others both stateside and abroad.
