Are you looking for a way to differentiate yourself from other transportation professionals or want to demonstrate your continuing commitment to continued education regarding the transportation profession? On November 8, three transportation professionals will share their certification journey, discussing why they chose to pursue certification, how it has helped them professional and personally, and provide some of their tips to prepare for the exams.

In addition, webinar participants will hear about the corporate viewpoint of certification and how organizations can support their employees’ pursuit of these certifications. ITE and TPCB staff will provide an administrative overview of the application process, general exam information, as well as information on the resources ITE provides to help certification applicants prepare for the exams.

    Pam Goodell is responsible for managing marketing for the entire ITE organization, including promoting ITE’s activities and events, overseeing sales and business development efforts, and managing ITE’s branding, including growth in brand awareness within the transportation and affiliated industries/professions (such as health, economic development, safety, and emergency response) and brand management. She also provides assistance to the Transportation Professional Certification Board and National Operation Center of Excellence as well as on contracts, as requested.

  • Carrie Falkenrath, Principal Transportation Engineer & Planner | Tsquared Traffic & Transportation | St. Louis, Missouri, United States

    Carrie has over 25 years of experience as a transportation consultant. She started forging her own career as early as her undergraduate education by choosing some non-traditional routes that put her where she wanted or needed to be as she worked her way through. She earned her BSCE from the University of Missouri-Rolla, and her MSCE from the University of Washington. After almost 20 years in practice for a mix of international, regional, and local consultants, Carrie started her own small firm in 2016. Along the way, Carrie has obtained multiple licenses and certifications to support her goals (PE, PTOE, PTP, RSP1), and she’s been an adjunct professor, a LeadershipITE graduate, and an award recipient. Carrie has been active in ITE throughout her career and has served in leadership roles from her local Chapter to the International level. Most importantly, Carrie is a full-time Mom to two busy teens and a part-time spouse to one understanding partner.

  • Dan Hardy, PTP, Principal (Retired) | Renaissance Planning (Retired) | Arlington, Virginia, United States

    Dan is recently retired, but most recently was a principal with Renaissance Planning in Arlington, VA. He has over 30 years of experience in both public and private sectors developing transportation solutions that balance transportation and land use options to optimize multimodal travel demand and transportation network services in congested communities. Dan is a former chair of ITE’s Transportation Planning Council and is a co-author of ITE’s Recommended Practices on Transportation Impact Analyses for Site Development and Planning Urban Roadway Systems.

  • Luana Broshears, PhD, PE, PTOE, RSP2i , Planning and Safety Senior Director | Institute of Transportation Engineers | Washington, DC, United States

    Luana Broshears is the Planning and Safety Director at ITE. Luana holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Brasilia, Brazil, and Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Civil Engineering, with emphasis on transportation safety, from Auburn University. She has worked in the public, private, and academic sectors, and her professional experience includes transportation safety plans, data-driven safety analysis, transportation impact analysis, traffic operations studies, parking studies, pedestrian and bicyclist studies, roadway impact fee studies, and review of development plans.
