The Basic ForeignTaxes Certificate Program offers those that take it, a deep dive into the tax issues surrounding foreign tax topics for foreigners with US income and US residents with foreign income. Attendees will leave the program with a basic understanding of the issues surrounding foreign taxes and how to navigate them.   • Understand the different types of tax treaties, how to read them and what to look for.
  • Understand the difference between the 1040NR and the 1040.
  • Understand how to treat a foreigner with US income tax return.
  • Understand how to treat a US resident with foreign income.
  • Apply the knowledge gained on real-life tax returns.
