Fessenden Mark Fessenden is Director of Industry Relations for Johnson Controls Inc.For over 25 years he has been involved with the manufacturing of active fire protection systems.His experience includes water based systems (automatic sprinkler, water spray fixed systems, and watermist) and special hazard systems (clean agent, CO2, wet chemical, dry chemical, and foam).His focus has been in the development of new technologies, codes & standards, technical services, and training.He holds three U.S. patents in automatic sprinkler and fire alarm technology.Mark is a member of numerous National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Technical Committees and serves as Chairman of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) Committee on Professional Development (CDP). He is also Vice President of the Wisconsin Chapter of SFPE. He serves on the Board of directors for both the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA) and the International Fire Suppression Alliance (IFSA). Mark was the 2021 recipient of the SFPE Harold E. Nelson Service Award and the 2017 recipient of the NFPA Industrial Fire Protection Section Fire Prevention Award.Mark has a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from New England Institute of Technology and an MBA from Corban University.
