This live web event has ended. Thank you for attending.

Description

Solo Librarianship is a position that allows for many unique and varied experiences, with lots of helpful skills to be learned along the way. Join us as Julie Smith Maekask presents our continued discussion about Solo Librarianship Skills.

Finding information people need to do their jobs is Julie Smith Maekask’s professional mission. This encompasses locating information on laws, businesses, clients and competitors using tools ranging from data analytics to messaging on trucks. Law librarian at Eastman & Smith, Julie holds degrees in library science and business administration from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and is pursuing a certification in data science. Julie has experience working in a range of libraries including school, academic and public, both in professional and paraprofessional capacities. She is a member of the Ohio Regional Association of Law Libraries (former convenor of the Private Law Librarians section), Special Libraries Association, Strategic & Competitive Intelligence Professionals and Toledo Area Librarians Association (past president and former treasurer). Julie has authored articles for professional publications as well as presented at conferences. When not digging for information, Julie spends her time digging in the garden where she also endeavors to thwart animals’ shenanigans (with varying levels of success). She and her husband Paul reside in Bowling Green, Ohio.
