Professional Development -- Journal Retractions

Description

Please join us on Thursday, October 27th for the next Professional
Development event sponsored by SLA's Leadership and Management
Division. Our topic will be Journal Retractions. We will learn how the basic
process of journal retraction works and how best to help our customers and researchers handle retractions in the modern information landscape.

In order to get multiple perspectives on this issue and hear from professionals involved in different parts of the process, we have arrange a panel presentation.

Our presenters will be:

Mohit Garg (a research expert from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi)
Patrick Franzen (the Director of Publications and Platform at SPIE)
John Seguin, President and Chief Librarian at the Third Iron Company (which provides research solutions to facilitate full text access for researchers)

Mohit Garg

Mohit Garg is an academician and researcher who works as Assistant
Librarian at Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. Before joining
the IIT Delhi, he worked as Assistant Librarian at Indira Gandhi
National Tribal University (A Central University), Amarkantak, Madhya
Pradesh. He is a two continuous term (2017-2021, 2021-2025) Standing
Committee Member of IFLA Indigenous Matter Section, Netherlands, and
other international and national associations. He has published Research
papers in Scopus Indexed, and UGC CARE Listed Journals. His areas of
interest are Application of ICT, Research Ethics & Methodology, Digital
Humanities, Information Retrieval, Data Science, and Machine learning.
