Abstract: The vast majority of multi-million dollar projects are cost driven. Due to the nature and liability of spending these large amounts of money, extra special care is given to cost efficiency. Corporations have improved their project development and project management techniques to streamline these types of projects for maximum cost efficiency. Every so often a project comes along that can be classified as hyper schedule constrained that requires a hyper compressed schedule. When this happens there is immense pressure between the cost first culture of the organization and the strict schedule requirements of the project. This causes interesting results in the Front End Loading (FEL) and planning of the project. This presentation offers one example of a hyper schedule constrained project and the FEL techniques used to achieve a successful outcome.
