This online course is for respiratory therapists who teach and care for patients with asthma.

The AME-O course is based on the NAEPP’s “Four Components of Asthma Management” as presented in the National Institute of Health (NIH), National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP)'s Expert Panel Report 3 (EPR-3): Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma Summary Report and the 2020 Focused Updates to the guidelines.

Participants who finish the course will learn:

• Information on assessment and monitoring
• Control of environmental factors
• Medicine management
• Patient education

This continuing respiratory care education is approved for 8.75 contact hours by the American Association for Respiratory Care.
