MDS: Low and High Risk Diagnosis and Treatment

During this program, recorded on October 6, 2015, Dr. Michaelis uses a combination of lecture and case studies to present the most current thinking on the treatment of MDS. It begins with a short overview of what is known about the MDS disease mechanism. This is followed by a discussion of what defines higher-risk MDS versus lower-risk MDS.

This program reviews treatment strategies and options currently being used for patients, including drug therapy, supportive care, and stem cell transplantation. The factors that influence specific treatment decisions are also discussed.

The program ends with a brief discussion of the treatment options that are in development and may be available in the future.
