Surgical Management of Cutaneous Facial Pathology

OMSs can incorporate facial skin pathology in their practice, and awareness of various skin pathologies is key to provide evidence-based care for these patients. This webinar includes examples of both benign and malignant skin lesions along with their workup as well as surgical and medical management. The webinar also will cover various treatment modalities, from local tissue rearrangement to free flaps.

At the conclusion of this program, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify various common skin pathology and differentiate between benign and malignant skin conditions.
  2. Formulate treatment plans that incorporate medical and surgical arms for various facial skin pathologies.
  3. Compose a surgical algorithm for reconstructing cutaneous facial defects after surgical treatment.
  4. Explain surgical techniques, anatomy and advantages and disadvantages of each surgical reconstructive technique.

Registrants will be granted access to view the recording and claim CE credit for up to 30 days after the conclusion of the webinar. You will receive notification as soon as the recording is available (typically within three business days of the live webinar).

    Waleed Zaid, DDS, MSc, completed his residency program at McGill University and his head and neck oncology and microvascular reconstruction fellowship at Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Zaid has been an associate professor at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center New Orleans in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is Chief of Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, La. He is a Diplomate of ABOMS.
