This webcast will discuss the clinical information necessary to appropriately assign ICD-10 codes and the associated documentation requirements. Particular emphasis will be given to the diagnostic categories most commonly reported by pain medicine physicians. Clinical examples illustrating both effective and suboptimal documentation will be highlighted.

Upon completion of the presentation, participants will
• be familiar with the structure of the ICD-10 codes and the application of the codes in the healthcare system
• recognize the level of specificity incorporated into ICD-10 codes
• understand the link between clinical documentation and code selection, including the information necessary to assign appropriate ICD-10 codes
