Jianguo Cheng, MD PhD
Dr. Jianguo Cheng is Professor
of Anesthesiology and Director of the Cleveland Clinic Multidisciplinary Pain
Medicine Fellowship Program. Dr. Cheng
was recognized by Best Doctors in America (Best Doctors Inc.) and 70 Best Pain
Management Physicians in the US (Becker's ASC Review). He has also directed and
conducted laboratory and clinical research that is supported by research grants
from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Department of Defense, and
other funding agencies. He has published more than 240 research papers, review
articles, abstracts, and book chapters. Dr. Cheng has trained more than 140
clinical pain fellows and postdoctoral research fellows and has frequently
given lectures in premier international conferences and institutions. As a recognized leader, Dr. Cheng is President-elect
of the American Academy of Pain Medicine. Dr. Cheng has served as a
member of Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Expert Work Group
to develop, specify, and maintain clinical quality measures.In addition, Dr. Cheng plays active
leadership roles in the Association of University Anesthesiologists, American
Board of Anesthesiology, and American Society of Anesthesiologists. He also
serves as Senior Editor, Associate Editor, and Section Editor for the
scientific journals of Pain Medicine, Pain Practice, and Pain Physician .
Tom Buchheit, MD
Dr. Thomas E. Buchheit is currently the Division Chief for Pain Medicine, a member of Duke’s Center for Translational Pain Medicine, Director of Regenerative Pain Therapies, and serve on the Editorial Board of Pain Medicine. He has practiced interventional pain and musculoskeletal medicine for the past 20 years, collaborated with many talented clinicians and researchers in the United States and Europe, and built a program in the Center for Translational Pain Medicine. Dr. Buchheit received his MD from Emory University School of Medicine, was a resident of Anesthesiology at University of California–San Francisco Medical Center, his fellowship in Pain Management at Wake Forest University and is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
