Anatomical Empowerment: Applying Interventional Strategies to Treat Vertebral Compression Fractures in the Setting of Cancer

A storyboard case presentation will lead an expedition in the application of pain interventions for the treatment of vertebral compression fractures in cancer. Interventional techniques include vertebral augmentation, lumbar medial branch nerve blocks and radiofrequency ablation, peripheral nerve stimulation and ultrasound-guided fascial plane blocks.

Anatomical appreciation of vertebral fractures and the effect on posterior arch elements will be explored through curated, cadaveric dissections. Beautiful depictions of complex mechanical systems and adaptations to spinal deformity will elucidate medical knowledge and clinical applications.
