E/M Coding Made Simple

Thank you

This live web event has ended. Thank you for attending.

Description

Office visit evaluation and management codes are integral to a pain management practice. Providers and coding and billing staff must understand how to appropriately select and document each code to ensure accurate payment and remain compliant with audit protocols. The E/M codes and guidelines updated in 2021 continue to evolve and influence code selection. The intent of the updated guidelines was to reduce the burden associated with documentation, make documentation more meaningful, and allow providers to spend more time with their patients. This webinar will address key criteria for selecting levels of service with a focus on distinguishing between the most commonly reported E/M codes in the outpatient setting.

Objectives and Desired Outcomes:
After attending this webinar, participants should be better able to
  • Understand the current office visit E/M guidelines, technical revisions, and common questions.
  • Be able to distinguish the coding requirements for level 3 and level 4 Office and Other Outpatient E/M codes.
  • Improve documentation to ensure compliance and appropriate code selection.
