Paolo Gatti is Senior Vice President Pharmaceutical
Development Scientific Direction at the Evotec site in Verona, Italy.
Prior to joining Evotec in 2017, Paolo was head of
product development at BSP Pharmaceuticals (Latina, Italy), a global
manufacturing and development services provider in the field of conventional
and biotech oncological drugs. He started his career in 1999 as a formulation
scientist at Pharmacia & Upjohn (Nerviano) and he held positions of
increasing responsibility in pharmaceutical development at Pharmacia, Pfizer,
Eurand and Adare Pharmaceuticals.
Amongst his career achievements is the contribution as
pharmaceutical development team leader to the successful registration in USA,
Europe and Japan of Pfizer’s new anticancer drug sunitinib maleate.
Paolo’s background and research interests include
development of formulations to speed-up new chemical entity clinical studies;
bioavailability improvement of poorly soluble drugs; patient-centric dosage
from development, oral solid and freeze dried dosage forms process development
and scale-up.
He is faculty member of Master Courses at the
Universities of Pavia and Siena and is invited lecturer at other universities
and professional advancement courses. He is author of peer reviewed papers and
patents and is the co-author of a book on Pharmaceutical Industry Equipment and
Processes.
Pascale is a passionate, results-driven leader with
over 20 years’ experience working in international drug development - from
early stage to commercial. Known for her rigorous scientific approach,
organizational skills and team leadership; Pascale’s core expertise is in
bioavailability enhancement and development of various dosage forms. She has
taken progressive leadership roles working at Skyepharma and Pharmascience (Canada),
at HWI Analytik (Germany) where she led a Project Management and Pharmaceutical
Development team and at Catalent as Director of Science & Technology for
Europe and as Director Project Management for the Catalent German Softgel site.
She has recently been appointed as the Chief Technology Officer at
leon-nanodrugs. Pascale graduated with a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from
Paris XI University. When not working Pascale can be found
running or swimming.
