Dr.
Pacanowski is the Associate Director for Genomics and Targeted Therapy in FDA’s
Office of Clinical Pharmacology.His
team of translational scientists works across all therapeutic areas to advance
the practice of precision medicine by (1) advising drug, biomarker, and in vitro diagnostic developers on scientific and
regulatory matters; (2) developing policies and guidance for industry related
to pharmacogenomics and targeted drug development; and (3) conducting research
projects to evaluate the use biomarkers in drug development and regulatory
decision-making.Dr. Pacanowski received
his Pharm.D. from the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia (2004) and his
M.P.H. from the University of Florida (2008). He completed a residency in
clinical pharmacology at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, NY (2005), and a
clinical research fellowship in cardiovascular pharmacogenomics at the
University of Florida (2008).
