Chambers play a critical role in providing accessible information on in-demand industry sectors and occupations in their regions. One of the ways that chambers approach this work is by developing and promoting career pathways to help students and job-seekers understand their options. In this session, Robin Willis, associate vice president of talent pipeline strategies at the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, provides an overview of the chamber's Mapping Your Path to a Career programming and their IT/Technology pathway work. Ron Ottinger, executive director of the STEM Next Opportunity Fund, discusses their partnership with tech and philanthropic leaders, including Intel and Qualcomm, to launch Million Girls Moonshot to close the gender gap in STEM. Corine Waldau, senior director of economic vitality at the Boulder Economic Council discusses the career pathways work stemming from the chamber's "Boulder Together" Program, a strategic multi-year initiative designed to address three areas of economic and community need: workforce housing, development, and mobility.
