Description: Medical school is great at preparing you for a career in medicine, but little is ever taught about preparing for your financial future. There are many things to consider for someone who goes from no income and large debt to a high earning potential quickly. This session will cover the basics for developing a holistic approach to financial planning. Brandon, a financial advisor, and Rachel, a new family physician in practice, are a married couple who will share their own perspectives on managing finances for physicians. By sharing common pitfalls and tips from real life experience they hope to inspire students to make smart decisions early that will lead to a stable financial future. This course covers a variety of topics including insurances, budgeting, student debt, retirement, and tax and estate planning.
