Altitude Sickness and Hyperthermia

This session provides an interactive discussion of key issues surrounding high altitude and heat-related illnesses. Participants will be able to recognize, diagnose, treat, and manage altitude sickness and hyperthermia. Complications and considerations for unique populations will also be discussed.

Learning Objectives:
  • Recognize and diagnose high-altitude illnesses, including preventative strategies, treatment options, and complications related to high-altitude illnesses.
  • Evaluate the spectrum of heat-related illnesses, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of complications.
