Optimizing Obesity Management in Primary Care

This session will outline the components of a comprehensive, medical obesity treatment plan, focusing on optimizing a patient's medication regimen. At the end of this session, participants will be able to identify common weight-promoting medications and will learn alternatives to reduce the risk of iatrogenic weight gain. Participants will gain familiarity with anti-obesity medications and learn the nuances of medication selection and titration for optimal effectiveness as well as strategies for navigating side effects.

  • Evaluate how anti-obesity medications can be leveraged as part of a comprehensive treatment plan to help patients with weight loss.
