Session description:
This session will provide participants the current challenges of recruiting and increasing diversity in family residency program that will allow them to more closely match their resident population to the communities they serve. The discussion will also provide some ideas on potential opportunities for making programs more attractive to minority applicants and increase their presence in family medicine.
Learning objectives:
1. To understand current challenges of residencies in matching their resident population to that of their practice population
2. Provide a framework that will help programs develop ways in which they can increase diversity in their programs.
3. Provide potential ideas for programs to foster future paths to increase resident diversity
