Description

It is essential to ensure that all women can access the full range of contraceptive methods in the postpartum period, free from coercion. Healthcare professionals play a critical role in empowering women to choose the best method for them. This session will provide information on the importance of postpartum contraception and explain the appropriate use of LARC-related coding, including the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code and the International Classification of Disease, Tenth Edition (ICD-10). Participants will have the opportunity to ask the presenter questions through a Q&A session at the end of the webinar.

Upon completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Understand the benefits of immediate postpartum contraceptive services
  2. Explain the appropriate use of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code and the International Classification of Disease, Tenth Edition (ICD-10) for LARC-related services
  3. Identify resources from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) available to address common LARC-related coding questions

    Brad Hart is President of Reproductive Medicine Administrative Consulting, Inc. in Gastonia, North Carolina, a national consulting firm focusing on billing, coding, and operations support for OB/GYN and OB/GYN subspecialty practices. He is a faculty member for the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ Coding Workshops and Webcasts.

    He has been a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) with the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) since 1998, and has received special certification in the field of OB/GYN (COBGC), as well as earning the status of Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA). He is also a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) with the Medical Group Management Association/American College of Medical Practice Executives (MGMA/ACMPE).
