Objectives

Breastfeeding Support Tools for the Obstetrics Provider was developed by two experts in the field with the goal of educating the ob-gyn clinician how to identify ways to incorporate breastfeeding support into prenatal care.

By the end of the unit, the clinician should be able to:

• Demonstrate how to implement breastfeeding supportive maternity practices into the hospital and birth setting
• Provide support to each patient in the days and months after birth
• Explain how to provide breastfeeding supportive care of common postpartum issues in the lactating woman
