Since 2020, ACOG has been offering a web-based Coding On-Demand webinar for obstetrician-gynecologists to provide them with a comprehensive knowledge on accurate coding and billing with relevant coding scenarios, at their own pace.

The courses have been updated and new courses added, presented by physician members of the Committee on Health Economics and Coding (CHEC) and expert ACOG staff. This module includes:

  • Confirmation of Pregnancy Visit
  • Coding for Colposcopy and Endometrial Biopsy
  • Coding for Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC)

Topics reflect the frequently asked questions ACOG receives through the Payment Advocacy and Policy Portal.

After completing this course, participants will be able to:
  • Understand the timing to initiate the prenatal episode of care Discuss the requirements for correct code selection
  • Distinguish appropriate codes for coding colposcopy directed cervical biopsy to ensure effective reimbursement
  • Understand proper way of assigning correct diagnosis for coding of pregnancy visits
  • Apply knowledge of diagnostic and procedural coding to clinical scenarios involving intrauterine device placement and removal
