Course Description: *

This course provides quality improvement strategies and multidisciplinary approaches to care for pregnant and postpartum patients experiencing perinatal mental health conditions including integration of mental health care, mental health condition screening, coordination and follow-up, data monitoring, and health equity considerations. This course features a comprehensive overview of the Perinatal Mental Health Conditions AIM Patient Safety Bundle and its key elements.

Learning Objectives: *

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Identify strategies to increase recognition of mental health conditions in pregnant and postpartum patients
  • Describe necessary components and considerations to appropriately care for pregnant and postpartum patients with mental health considerations
  • Implement strategies for recognizing, treating, monitoring, and following-up on perinatal mental health condition, in the context of systems learning, and provision of respectful, equitable and supportive care
