Course Description: *

This course provides quality improvement strategies and multidisciplinary approaches to care for postpartum patients including implementing multidisciplinary staff education, postpartum risk patient screening, a comprehensive postpartum visit, data monitoring and shared decision making. This course features a comprehensive overview of the Postpartum Discharge Transition AIM Patient Safety Bundle and its key elements.

  • Identify strategies to increase recognition of maternal warning signs in patients during the immediate postpartum period
  • Describe necessary components and considerations to appropriately care for postpartum patients
  • Implement strategies for reporting completed comprehensive postpartum visits, systems learning and provision of respectful, equitable, and supportive care for postpartum patients
