Course Description: *

This course provides quality improvement strategies and multidisciplinary approaches to care for pregnant and postpartum patients experiencing sepsis including implementing evidence-based criteria for sepsis assessment, best practices to prevent infections, post-stabilization management and more. This course features a comprehensive overview of the Sepsis in Obstetric Care AIM Patient Safety Bundle and its key elements.

Learning Objectives: *

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
  • Identify strategies to increase prevention of infection and recognition of sepsis during pregnancy and the postpartum period
  • Describe necessary components and considerations to appropriately care for pregnant or postpartum people with sepsis or suspected sepsis
  • Implement strategies for reviewing care provided to pregnant or postpartum people with sepsis, systems learning, and provision of respectful, equitable, and supportive care
