Timing and Indications on Dental Implants for the Growing Patient

Course Content: Long-term success of oral implants in partially edentulous cases has been the basis for other clinicians to broaden the use of implants to younger patients in whom teeth are missing due to agenesis and/or trauma. This activity will review the etiology of missing teeth, treatment of dental or oral co-morbidities, consideration of hard and soft tissue augmentation if needed, consideration of age, location of missing teeth, and longevity of proposed restorations, and general anesthesia and/or OR settings.

  • Discuss diagnosis, treatment planning, and surgical intervention for the growing patient with dental implants
Intended audience: Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons

Release and expiration date: June 21, 2016 – June 21, 2017

Teaching methods used and method of participation: video format to be viewed by the learner. In addition, the learner completes the pre- and post-test and an evaluation form to receive credit.
