Description

High intensity interval training (HIIT), a training method involving short bursts of intense exercise alternating with lower-intensity exercise or rest, is an effective and efficient way to deliver significant fitness benefits in a short timespan. As a highly adaptable and variable training style, the HIIT approach can appeal to a wide range of fitness levels to improve cardiovascular fitness and muscular strength. Fitness professionals, personal trainers, and individuals looking to advance their knowledge and expertise in programming HIIT-style workouts for their clients or themselves will be equipped with the principles of designing a quality HIIT program, guidance on exercise and equipment selection, as well as coaching pointers and cues. Learn how to keep your clients safe by determining their readiness with resources for assessing and screening prior to beginning the program. Discover proper form and common error corrections for basic bodyweight HIIT components with detailed demonstrations of the squat, push-up, vertical pull, glute bridge, and broad jump. Also included are sample schedules and training cycles!
