Description

The popular 10,000 steps per day goal was (surprisingly) not derived from scientific evidence. This presentation will explore the origin of the 10,000 steps per day goal, the current science on step counts and health, and strategies to improve population health through device-based interventions. Looking to the future, the presentation will discuss inclusion of step counts in the next U.S. Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans. Also, EIM Global Leadership Awards will also be presented during this session time.
