Integrating Digital Dentistry Into Dental Education

Digital dentistry significantly impacts the way today’s dentists practice. So how can we prepare tomorrow’s dentists to work in this environment? Join us for this free webinar as we examine how the Marquette University School of Dentistry incorporated and built internal support for digital dentistry throughout the four-year curriculum. The presenters will provide course examples and student case scenarios to help attendees initiate or enhance integration tactics at their home institutions.

The American Dental Education Association is an ADA CERP Recognized Provider.

An evaluation form is available to participants after the conclusion of the live webinar. To earn continuing education (CE) credit for participation in the webinar, the online evaluation must be completed in full by Aug. 27, 2022. After completing the evaluation, webinar participants can print and save the CE Verification Form.

  • Hongseok An, D.D.S., M.S.D.

    Dr. An is Assistant Professor of Prosthodontics at Marquette University School of Dentistry. He received his B.S. in Statistics/Computer Science in 2004 and his D.D.S. in 2008 from Seoul National University in South Korea. Dr. An completed his Prosthodontic Residency at the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where he received his Certificate in Prosthodontics and an M.S.D. He has served as an editorial board member of the Journal of Prosthodontics and as a reviewer of other scientific journals, including Angle Orthodontists. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics, a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, and a member of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and the American Dental Association. Dr. An has authored and co-authored several scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals. His research interests and lecture topics include CAD/CAM technology, esthetic reconstruction and implant dentistry.

  • Gary Stafford, D.M.D.

    Dr. Stafford holds a Fellowship in the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He also maintains membership in many other professional organizations. Dr. Stafford currently serves as the National Director for the Consortium of Operative Dentistry Educators (CODE) and is a Past President of both the American College of Dentists – WI Section and the XI Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon. A 1985 graduate of the Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, he followed his military tour with 18 years of private practice in Chicago. After joining Marquette University School of Dentistry in 2004, he received advanced training in evidence-based dentistry, decision-making, and practice at Oxford University—publishing numerous articles related to these topics. Dr. Stafford has organized or participated in a variety of dental mission trips, and among other honors, received the 2001 East Meets West Humanitarian Award for his work establishing a dental program for children in Vietnam.
