  • Rosa Chaviano-Moran, D.M.D.

    Dr. Chaviano-Moran earned her dental degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, School of Dental Medicine (RSDM). As RSDM Associate Dean for Admissions, she serves as administrator, faculty, recruiter and mentor, providing support services for current and prospective students, especially those underrepresented in dentistry. Dr. Chaviano-Moran is the dental director for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Summer Health Professions Educational Program as well as all RSDM educational pipeline programs. She is the co-faculty advisor for the RSDM Hispanic Dental Association and the Dental Association for Equality—a platform for student advocacy in the LGBTQ community. Dr. Chaviano-Moran is a member of the American Dental Education Association, American Dental Association, Hispanic Dental Association, National Association of Medical Minority Educators and National Association of Advisors for the Health Professions.

  • Herminio Perez, D.M.D., M.B.A.

    Dr. Perez received his D.M.D. from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Perez is the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, Diversity & Inclusion. In addition to his academic and administrative responsibilities, Dr. Perez has several research interests that relate to improving the experience of dental students during their academic years. Dr. Perez has been an active member of the American Dental Education Association and serves as Councilor of the ADEA Gay-Straight Alliance Section. He is a member of the National Association of Medical Minority Educators and trustee at the Hispanic Dental Association Board of Trustees. He is the Co-Principal Investigator of “Creating Awareness in Academic Dentistry,” a project funded by the ADEAGies Foundation.

  • Colin Haley, D.D.S.

    Dr. Haley graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry (UIC COD) in 2007. He worked in private practice prior to joining the faculty of UIC COD in 2012, where he currently works as a Clinical Assistant Professor and Assistant Director of Group Facilitation, overseeing active group learning strategies (problem-based, case-based and team-based learning) within the college. He has additional formal training in education, having graduated with a Master of Education in the Health Professions from Johns Hopkins University.

    In addition to teaching at UIC COD, Dr. Haley practices dentistry in association with Howard Brown Health in Chicago, an organization dedicated to eliminating disparities in health care experienced by members of the LGBTQ community.

  • Harold Jennings, RDH, M.A.

    Prof. Jennings is the Associate Director of the Dental Hygiene Program at Plaza College in Queens, NY. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. In 2011, he graduated from the NYU College of Dentistry (NYU Dentistry) with an associate degree in Dental Hygiene. And in 2016, he graduated from NYU Steinhardt with a master’s degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs. That same year, he was promoted to a full-time faculty position at NYU Dentistry, where he taught preclinic on the clinic floors and was the Course Director for Periodontics for the Dental Hygienist. In his current role, Prof. Jennings teaches preclinic, first-year clinic and Microbiology.

  • Jompobe “Joe” Vuthiganon, D.M.D.

    Dr. Vuthiganon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Oral Rehabilitation at the Medical University of South Carolina James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine (MUSC CDM). He received his dental degree from MUSC CDM and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry. Following residency, he came back to Charleston, SC, and joined the faculty full time at his dental alma mater.

    Dr. Vuthiganon serves as the Chair of the Curriculum Committee at MUSC CDM. He is also active in the college’s diversity and inclusion efforts. He serves as the Chair of the College’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee, is a member of the MUSC Safe Zone Advisory Committee and a faculty advisor for MUSC’s Student Alliance for Equality (SAFE)—the university’s student LGBTQ+ group.
