This webinar is
the first in a series on health equity. It will address health equity’s critical
aspects, including various determinants of health and how they intersect. An
oral health care vignette will be used to examine these intersecting
determinants. Additionally, a new model for examining these intersecting
determinants of health will be provided. We explore accreditation, legislative
and collaborative care/interprofessional education (IPE) implications related
to multiple determinants of health and health equity in developing strategic
solutions to reduce barriers.
Learning Objectives:
- Define health equity and the determinants of health.
- Examine intersectionality within a health equity framework.
- Highlight new intersectional determinants of health model.
- Review the accreditation, collaborative care/IPE and legislative implications for addressing health equity.
