This webinar will describe how the
New Mexico early intervention team (19 developmental vision specialists)
implemented the CVI Companion Guide as part of a study conducted by the
authors, Drs. Amanda Hall Lueck, Deborah Chen, and Elizabeth S. Hartmann. The
study has focused on the implementation of the companion guide from the
practitioners’ and parents’ perspectives. Data were collected from professional
learning groups, interviews, and record reviews. We will share the
implementation procedures, outcomes, and lessons learned through
transdisciplinary discussion. A variety of examples of how practitioners used
the Companion Guide with families, how families view resources on CVI, and how
to use within the coaching and routines-based instruction model will be shared.
Participants will:
- Learn the steps one early intervention program took to implement the CVI Companion Guide and other CVI resources in their telehealth home visits
- Learn about parent feedback from various CVI resources and what has been helpful for their family
- Learn strategies and working with families and other providers through learning circles, coaching and telehealth.
