Career Resources from the NRTC

The mission of the National Research and Training Center on Blindness and Low Vision is to enhance employment and independent living outcomes for individuals who are blind or have low vision through research, training, education, and dissemination. The 4to24 App, Career Advantage for V.I.Ps program, and Putting Your Best Foot Forward workshop and training are designed to meet this mission. In this session, participants will learn how these career resources can be utilized to benefit persons with blindness and low vision, practitioners, and family members.

Participants will:
1. Be able to explain the purpose of Career Advantage for V.I.P.s, how to access the program, and how it can benefit both consumers and practitioners.
2. Be able to summarize the purpose of the Putting Your Best Foot Forward program and workshop, how to sign up for the program, and some of the activities the program includes.
3. Become familiar with the 4to24 app for parents and students, which features topics on independence, transition, and the E.C.C. Participants will learn what it offers and for whom it is recommended.
