Setting the Course: Promoting the Ethical Treatment of Persons with Visual Impairments

When we think about the responsibilities of rehabilitation professionals who serve persons with blindness or low vision, teaching, training, counseling, or treating often comes to mind. However, service providers also have a responsibility to promote the ethical treatment of those they serve. This presentation will explore this responsibility.

Participants will be able to:
1. Identify ways they can promote the ethical treatment of persons with blindness and low vision
2. Describe how ethical violations impact persons with blindness and low vision
3. Identify resources that support the ethical treatment of persons with blindness or low vision
