New Tools for Diagnosis and Treatment - Hot Topics Symposium 2017

2017 RecordingsA panel of experts will present the latest information on current topics of interest, then debate, describe, discuss, and illustrate the implications of each topic with respect to clinical practice. The session will conclude with a discussion and recommendations by the entire expert panel, who will field questions as time permits.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Following participation in this activity, learners should be able to:

  • Evaluate the mechanism of action of ketamine, major side effects, and assess the clinical scenarios where ketamine may be beneficial
  • Use the method of focused ultrasound, considering the types and sizes of surgical targets that can be treated with this method, and the common side- effects of treatment
  • Select patients who are most likely to realize the potential benefits and avoid the pitfalls of CBD treatment
  • Use the information gained by electrical source imaging when planning epilepsy surgery, and be aware of the limitations of this method
