This Ask the Experts Webinar will provide an overview of the Preventing Epilepsy Deaths Clinician Toolkit. The toolkit was co-developed with neurology, epilepsy and patient advocacy organizations with the goal of improving awareness about epilepsy mortality amongst clinicians and people with epilepsy, and ultimately decreasing mortality risk. The webinar will review how clinicians can easily incorporate this toolkit into routine practice.

Shawna Benard, MD, MPH

Dr. Shawna Benard is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neurology at The University of Southern California and Medical Director of the Keck Hospital Epilepsy Monitoring Unit. She has special interests in disparities in epilepsy care and psychiatric comorbidities in epilepsy.
Dan Freedman, DO

Dr Dan Freedman is an assistant professor of neurology at Dell Medical School in Austin, TX and the program director of the epilepsy fellowship. He has a passion for educating healthcare workers and caregivers about seizure safety training.
