Below the Surface: Mental Health and Psychological Safety in the Nonprofit Sector

Many of us are drawn to nonprofit work because we've witnessed or faced some kind of adversity in our lives that has inspired us to desire change. We're committed to righting wrongs, and come into the sector full of passion for making a difference for the causes we care so deeply about.

At the same time, we're seeing disturbing statistics around the prevalence of sexual assault and harassment in the sector, a constant revolving door of talent, and issues around morale and trust. If you're stressed out, burned out, and/or suffering mentally and emotionally, you'll never be able to serve your cause most effectively.

Join Ian and Leah, both of whom have lived experience with mental illness, in this first of a series of events related to mental health in the nonprofit sector. In this session, we'll provide an overview of the issue, identify the problems that need to be addressed, and begin to talk about solutions.
