Description

Fundraising is the lifeblood of nonprofits. You need to have a strategy in place to ensure you’re meeting your goals, targeting the right audience(s), and providing the right value to your organization. After all, if you don’t have a plan, how can you know if your fundraising efforts are on the right path?  In this hands-on session, we’ll cover the different aspects of a fundraising campaign strategy, where attendees will learn how to set goals, define activities and tactics, uncover risks, discover new opportunities, and manage the campaign.

Contributors

  • Joi Bass

Joi has seemingly done it all:  fundraising, community organizing, marketing for a national nonprofit, and founding a digital lifestyle magazine aimed at Black Xennial women.  These skills converge to make her a perfect fit for her role at Mighty Citizen.  Joi helps our clients understand their true needs and then configures a plan to help their audiences understand and buy into their mission.  She crafts marketing strategies, messaging matrixes, social media plans, and digital solutions.  An avid puzzle fan, she puts those skills to use solving client puzzles day in and day out.

Prior to Mighty Citizen, Joi led business development and external relations efforts at Single Stop, a national nonprofit.  There, she worked with dozens of higher ed institutions to create programs to help their low-income students stay in school.  Throughout her career, she has particularly focused on higher ed, poverty alleviation, and economic empowerment.

During Chicago winters, Joi enjoys cozy mysteries and Murder She Wrote.  In the summer, you'll find her riding her bike with her face to the sun.  And always, puzzles.
