Description
Non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis (NCFB) results from an initial airway
Injury that leads to a cycle of Inflammation, airway remodeling, Increased mucus production, and repeated Infection (Maselli 2017 p2). Repeated
infections, particularly with Pseudomonas aeruginosa,
have a significant impact on quality of life, number of hospitalizations, and
mortality in NCFB patients. Current approaches to treatment are associated with
suboptimal disease management, adverse events, and bacterial resistance. This
webinar will discuss how the severity of NCFB is characterized, current challenges
in diagnosis and management, and emerging treatment strategies for severe NCFB.
