(PR-DIPF) Serving the LGBTQ+ Community in the Court System

Course Description: This course is designed to provide participants with a fundamental understanding of terminology and concepts related to the LGBTQ+ community. A general overview of LGBTQ+ learning topics will be presented, and supporting examples will be provided, allowing a wide audience to gain knowledge that is applicable in all court system settings.

Credit Hour(s): 1.5 hours (PR-DIPF)

Course Objective(s):
As a result of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify and use terminology related to LGBTQ+ identities and experiences
  • Apply knowledge and skills to engage members of the LGBTQ+ community in an affirming and safe way
  • Use nondiscriminatory approaches to serving LGBTQ+ youth and families
