September 8, 2023 Overview: Pretrial Fairness provisions of the SAFE-T Act

Course Description: This course will overview Public Act 101-652 commonly known as the Safety, Accountability, Fairness and Equity-Today (SAFE-T) Act and Public Act 102-1104, (Follow-Up Act), effective September 18, 2023, statewide pretrial services, and include discussions of trial and appellate court considerations of the Acts.

Length/Credit Hours: 2 hours

Participant Learning Objective(s): As a result of this course, participants will be able to:

Summarize the high-level impact of Public Acts 101-652 and 102-1104
Identify immediate requirements of the Public Acts
Identify Office of Statewide Pretrial Services resources
Utilize Supreme Court Pretrial Implementation Task Force resources published on the Task Force website as part of judicial review and consideration
