Description

APTA Credentialed Clinical Instructor Program, Level II hosted by APTA Virginia Tidewater District.

Prerequisite: APTA CCIP Level 1, must have served as CI to at least 1 student since completing the Level 1 course
CEUs: PTs/PTAs 1.7 Type 1 CEUs, clinicians from other healthcare professions may earn up to 1.3 CEUs.

You must complete your course registration on the APTA CCIP webpage. Registration closes Friday, July 21, 2023. The cost is $225 for APTA Virginia Members and $350 for non-members. You will need to register at the APTA CCIP webpage (see above). When you are finished registering, you will receive an email with a link to pay.   • Martha Selden, PT, DPT

    Dr. Selden has been a practicing physical therapist for over 35 years and still believes that physical therapy is one of the best professions in the world. She received her B.S. in Physical Therapy from VCU-MCV and her DPT from Shenandoah University. She has practiced in a variety of settings filling the roles of staff physical therapist, supervisor of PT in a Day Rehab Program, Rehab Program Director for outpatient clinics and skilled nursing facility contracts, director of the team for a pediatric feeding program, and former Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education. Her current roles as assistant professor teaching in Pathophysiology,Habilitation/Rehabilitation and Advanced Habilitation/Rehabilitation content areas and Program Director are the perfect combination of her favorite roles- helping students learn and understand new information and then working with them as they integrate classroom content into clinical practice.

  • Barbara Wilson, PT, DPT

    Board-Certified Specialist in Geriatric and Neurologic Physical Therapy
    APTA Clinical Trainer Level 1 and 2

    Barbara Wilson has had the privilege of serving as a primary clinical educator in acute care, burn unit, acute rehab, SNF and outpatient settings working with students from over 30 academic PT and PTA programs over last four decades. Most recently, she served as SCCE and Senior PT at Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital in Columbia, SC from 1989 through 2021 designing site specific individualized learning objectives for PT and PTA students at all levels of education. She also served as OT Fieldwork Coordinator during the early pandemic.

    Additional areas of clinical teaching experience have included provision of learning experiences for students with disabilities requiring accommodations , remedial affiliations and providing challenging experiences for exceptional learners.

    A lifelong learner, Barb received her entry level PT education at UNC, her advanced Masters at MCV/VCU, and transitional DPT from Regis University. She has served as adjunct faculty at Duke University, USC DPT program and voluntary adjunct at Midlands Technical College PTA program. She has served as APTA Level I trainer since 2000 and trainer for Advanced Program since 2009.
