In February 2022, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) implemented an update to the materials for their developmental surveillance program, “Learn the Signs. Act Early.” A major focus of the update was an evidence-based revision to the developmental milestone checklists. The updates led to much discussion and debate within the pediatric physical therapy community. This course will discuss the motivation and content of the updates and place them into context for pediatric physical therapists.
