This presentation covers the history of obstruction to
wealth accumulation in African-American communities, and issues to consider in
estate and financial planning today. This talk will describe the racial wealth
gap that continues to exist in the United States dating back to the Red Summer
of 1919 and the razing of Black Wall Street and continuing through the credit
and property discrimination against people of color historically through today.
We will describe ways that financial and estate planners can address these
issues in 2021 practice
