As blood bankers you are dealing with shortages, wastage, or getting the blood where it is needed in a timely manner. All have an impact to the availability of blood. This session looks at how a community hospital has approached these concerns to improve the management of the blood supply.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES


At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to
  1. Identify methods to reduce wastage of blood products.
  2. Discuss different approaches to the delivery of blood products.
  3. Learn how education of clinicians and nursing can help improve the blood supply.
