As blood bankers you are dealing with shortages, wastage, or getting the blood where it is needed in a timely manner. All have an impact to the availability of blood. This session looks at how a community hospital has approached these concerns to improve the management of the blood supply.
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to
- Identify methods to reduce wastage of blood products.
- Discuss different approaches to the delivery of blood products.
- Learn how education of clinicians and nursing can help improve the blood supply.
