Clinical laboratory science is a dichotomy. It is comprised of pairs of concepts: the chemical principle of the method and the clinical significance of the analyte being measured. The goal of this course is to review some of the basic principles of chemistry used to quantitate substances of clinical significance and to provide a description of the applications of these principles using specific examples.
