The role of implicit bias will be discussed and how these aggressions can be avoided through improved self-awareness, as well as how to address witnessed micro-aggressions by others.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Define "macro" and "micro-aggressions" and how individuals inadvertently contribute to this in the workplace
  • Recognize how micro-aggressions affect staff, students, medical providers and patients
  • Discuss techniques and actions to address witnessed micro-aggressions in the workplace
