Course Description
On-demand access to webinar held on September 13, 2021. Faculty discuss the meaning of macro and micro-aggressions and provide example scenarios of these actions in clinical practice. The role of implicit bias will be discussed and how these aggression can be avoided through improved self-awareness, as well as how to address witnessed micro-aggressions by others.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to: 
  • Define "macro" and "micro-aggressions" and how individuals inadvertently contribute to this in the workplace.
  • Recognize how micro-aggressions affect staff, students, medical providers and patients.
  • Discuss techniques and actions to address witnessed micro-aggressions in the workplace.
